In the midst of so much change, uncertainty, and upheaval, there is one thing you can count on. Vermont Afterschool will ALWAYS deliver high-quality professional development and training experiences no matter what! And we’re so pleased to announce that we have a stellar line-up for Fall 2020 and beyond.
Download our PD catalogue to get the full lay of the land, descriptions, and options. There’s so much great stuff in there and should appeal to a broad spectrum of skill levels and interests. We also want to emphasize that many of the trainings are for anyone working with youth, and we hope you will find something that lights you up.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR FALL 2020
We couldn’t do a conference this year but instead we decided to bring some thought-provoking and inspiring speakers to the virtual stage for our Vermont audience this fall. This is not to be missed!
Want to dive into how to better serve BIPOC youth & families and work toward anti-racist practices? Interested in racial justice and learning how to lead towards organizational change? This is the series for you with six workshops over the fall and spring.
This is designed for brand new staff in afterschool and school-age child care hubs. Participants can select from six different virtual workshops over the course of the next few months. It’s a great way for new staff to orient to the field and learn basic best practices in their work.
If you work with adolescents, are a parent or caregiver of a kid age 12-18, or are wanting to learn how you can support youth experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or in crisis, please consider taking this free 8-hour workshop.
Afterschool Essentials is an accelerated half-year program that Vermont Afterschool offers free for afterschool staff working in licensed afterschool programs. It is designed to meet the needs of the professional with limited experience in the afterschool setting and is connected to our Afterschool Foundations Certificate.
We are very excited to announce the Afterschool and Youth Work Certificate offered by the Community College of Vermont (CCV). The Afterschool and Youth Work Certificate will provide students with essential skills to develop, support, and administer high-quality afterschool and youth programs for young people ages 5-18. The coursework can be completed fully online for a total of 24 credits.
