STEM Virtual Keynote with Ainissa Ramirez

We have a slew of upcoming professional development learning opportunities that focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). And we’re especially excited to be able to have Dr. Ainissa Ramirez join us for a STEM virtual keynote on March 25th (11:30AM-12:30PM). This is a FREE learning opportunity that is not to be missed!

STEM Education in Our New World

The pandemic has illuminated many shortfalls in our world. We have learned that our educational system is fragile. We have also learned that the public’s understanding of science is fragile, too. In this virtual keynote talk, Dr. Ainissa Ramirez, a scientist and author and self-proclaimed “Science Evangelist,” will explore how to re-engage young people with STEM in this brave new world. She will share why all citizens need to know STEM, and highlight the key STEM skills that citizens of the 21st century will need. She will also discuss her path in science and reflect on potential new practices in STEM education for the future.

All are welcome including STEM enthusiasts, educators from all walks of life, out-of-school time professionals, and anyone interested in helping our youth learn the skills they need for the future. Pre-register here.

We are able to offer this learning event AT NOT COST thanks to continued support from funders like the Charles Steward Mott Foundation, STEM Next, and the Vermont Child Development Division. We choose to invest in your learning because we believe that an educated, engaged field translates into quality programming. And we also know that providing STEM learning experiences in the third space provides tremendous benefits for youth.
