VYP helps communities amplify, connect, and refocus the great programming and efforts already happening in their community as well as identifying new avenues to provide healthy environments and opportunities for youth. We’re here to support communities, individuals, and third space leaders at every stage of readiness. Learn about the different ways to take action below.

Capacity Building Communities:

Step 1: Read the VYP and Community Prevention Guidebook

Step 2: Work with the VYP state team to form a local coalition focused on positive youth development and designate a community lead

Step 3: Bring VYP workshops to your community

Step 4: Begin to develop local strategies based on the key findings from the statewide data

Full Implementation Communities:

Step 5: Sign the 5-year MOA with Vermont Afterschool to receive wraparound support for positive youth development and real-time key data findings from the Planet Youth survey. Please take our readiness assessment for a first step.

Step 6: Continue the ongoing and deep level work to create systemic change. VYP is a continuous process and communities should work to look at youth data annually and adjust strategies. In Step 6, VYP communities have committed to positive youth development and have created the groundwork to continue this work beyond the 5 year MOA.
