The Vermont Center for Afterschool Excellence offers a broad array of professional development opportunities and services for program directors, site coordinators, staff, educators, partners, and administrators.
NEW CCV ONLINE COURSE for Spring 2013
Special Topics: Development of the School-Age Child (EDU 2712) is an online course we are offering with CCV that focuses on afterschool education related to the development of school age children. Emphasis is on exploring the interconnections between child/youth development, the transition to and participation in school, and growth within a community context. Topics include: developmental theories and research, observation and assessment tools, design of inclusive integrated curriculum, understanding school and community in the context of youth development, and transitions related to providing afterschool education. NEW WORKSHOPS for Fall 2012: Regional Group Trainings
We have a number of new trainings this fall for our regional groups around Vermont. These trainings are typically organized by the Regional Group Directors and are posted when additional space is available. Check out our calendar for listings or on the regional training opportunities page.
NEW for 2012-13: ISS-AP Strands
Our new strands of Individualized System of Support for Afterschool Programs (ISS-AP) kick off on September 20th, 2012 and carry into 2013. Check out the ISS-AP page for more information on the strands, coaches, and individualized learning experiences available to afterschool professionals.
