This group of trainings includes a variety of workshops that teach staff members a wide range of games and activities that they can use throughout their programs as ice-breakers, rainy day activities, community builders, energizers, and attention grabbers. Examples include:
Games and Activities that Teach
Come and learn helpful facilitation tools and techniques. Take away strategies that will help you build a positive environment for learning, develop social/ emotional skills, and promote positive relationships. These experiential activities and approaches can be facilitated in any size space with simple materials and can be applied to academic, therapeutic and recreational group work. Activities can be utilized for all age groups. (2 hrs.)

First Week in Games
In this workshop, we’ll learn a handful of games to use during the first week (or anytime) of your afterschool program, vacation camp or summer camp. We’ll start with name games, move on to cooperative games and finish up with team building competitive games. This workshop will give you some tools to really get to know your kids during the early part of any group program. (2 hrs.)

Yo-yos, Diabolos and Juggling Sticks
This workshop will cover the basics of playing with and teaching kids how to play with the Yo-Yo, Diabolo and Juggling Sticks. We will learn three tricks on each apparatus as well as review helpful hints on teaching these activities to the kids in your program. This workshop could easily be customized to cover more maneuvers on one or two of these toys. (2hrs.)

Stuntology
Learn how to entertain and educate at the same time! Learn how to play The Evil Wizard Game, Paper Bag Limbo and others. Peter will teach you the secret behind poking your head through a small hole in a piece of paper without ripping the paper! You will learn a way of telling ’Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ that will have your audience rolling on the floor with laughter. (2 hrs.)

Get Energized… Be Better than the Bunny
Do you need fun new ways to get your program’s kids (and staff) energized and working together? Join us for ice breakers and team building activities that are proven hits! Activities are easily adaptable for any group size and require little materials or preparation time. Participants are ACTIVELY involved! Handout available. (2 hrs.)
