Here’s a brief outline of the project:

• Creating a comprehensive database of all afterschool programs in the state, including: licensed school-age care programs, 21st Century Community Learning Centers programs, teen centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, and school-based programs.
• Collecting information from each identified program about program capacity, number of children/ youth currently served, ages or grades of children/ youth serviced, program challenges, funding sources, hours of operation, etc.
• Developing an interactive mapping tool that allows searches by town or county, program type, or grade levels served.
• Researching available funding information for afterschool and identifying the various funding streams coming into Vermont programs.
• Compiling the results of the program survey and the mapping of funding streams into a report that was released for the Vermont Afterschool for All Legislative Day on February 23, 2011.
